Ethiopia has doubled the amount of wheat it is seeking to buy to 400,000 mt, according to government tender documents, with bids closing on November 28.

According to a statement on the Public Procurement & Property Disposal Service, the government is seeking the milling wheat in four separate tranches of 100,000 mt each.

The PPPDS last week issued a tender for 200,000 mt of milling wheat.
No details on shipment or delivery terms was given, although it is likely wheat from the Black Sea will be the most competitive.

Ethiopia is suffering devastating flash floods following a severe drought, with an estimated 7.8 million people receiving food aid since April. That figure is up from 5.6 million at the start of trhe year, according to government agencies.
