Iran's state importer booked a cargo of 48,000 mt of soybean meal in a tender that closed February 7.

The Brazil-origin cargo was awarded to the trading firm VA Intertrading at €483/mt on a CFR Persian Gulf basis.

Iran’s State Livestock Affairs Logistics company (SLAL) had invited offers for 120,000 mt of both soybean meal and barley.

No details emerged from SLAL regarding barley purchases.

SLAL last held a tender on January 31 for 200,000 mt of soybean meal and 120,000 mt of barley.

The state buyer is understood to have booked meal but passed on the barley.

The payment was said to be on cash against the documents or documents collection basis at the buyer’s option.

In a tender that closed on November 22, 2023, SLAL booked a single 60,000 mt cargo of Brazilian-origin soymeal at €609/mt on a CNF basis to Iran's southern port of Bandar Imam Khomeini, for delivery between December 10 and February 10.
