Japan YTD corn and wheat imports flat

Japan imported 1.18 million mt of corn and 483,236 tonnes of wheat in August, according to official data from the ministry of agriculture, which leaves the year-to-date imports of both cereals flat compared to the previous year.

Corn imports from January to August now stand at 9.97 million mt versus 10.1 million mt in the corresponding period, while wheat imports inched up to 3.9 million mt during January to August from 3.8 million mt in the previous corresponding period.
