Russian wheat exports continue to outpace those of previous years as total sales touched 19.07 million mt as of Sunday, data from the Ministry of Agriculture showed.

Sales of 1.33 million mt represents the biggest weekly total of the marketing year, with wheat exports now 33.2% ahead of where they were last year.

Russia’s ports are working around the clock to get this year’s record-breaking crop on to the export market, with total grain sales now at 24.5 million mt – 34% higher than at the same stage in the 2016/17 marketing year.

Barley sales have touched 3.21 million mt, almost double where they were at the same stage last year.

Corn, meanwhile, is a more modest 0.2% ahead of last year at 2.05 million mt as ports have given priority to wheat sales.
