US February soybean crush outstrips expectations, up 10% on year

US demand for soybean to be crushed hit 4.95 million st (165 million bushels) in February 2018, up 10% on the February 2017 figure, but down 5% on January.

Crude soybean oil produced reached 1.89 billion pounds, down 5% from January 2018 but up 8% from February 2017, while oil stocks rose to 2.42 billion pounds.

The figures outstripped analyst expectations, which were that crush demand would reach 163.5 million bushels and oil stocks 2.35 billion pounds.
