Ukrainian farm operator AgroGeneration has reported a 20% improvement on wheat yields, predicting yields to reach 5.2 tonnes per hectare compared with 4.4 in 2016.

According to its half-year financial results, it expects overall wheat production to reach 153,380 tonnes, down 6,000 tonnes on 2016 level due fewer hectares being farmed.

In terms of soy and oilseeds, the company warned drought condition in the eastern part of Ukraine could influence the company’s 2017 production target to match the 390,000 tonnes of grain and oilseed it produced last year.
The Paris-listed firm farms over 100,000 hectares in Ukraine, mostly in the eastern part.
