Ukrainian grain exports have struggled to keep up with pace of previous years, dropping almost 10% year-on-year to 30 million mt, according to data published by Ukraine’s food safety agency Thursday.

Total wheat sales are 4% lower year-on-year at 13.8 million mt as Ukraine has struggled to maintain the market share it built during previous campaigns, losing out to Russia’s massive crop.

Milling wheat sales have taken the biggest hit, falling 14% year-on-year to 7.7 million mt while feed wheat sales managed to increase 9% to 6 million mt.

And while feed wheat exports are up, lower production has seen other feed grains struggle to hit similar heights as last year.

Corn exports have dropped 13% year-on-year to 11.6 million mt and barley lost 15% to 4 million mt.

Oilseed exports have been dragged 30% higher by a doubling in rapeseed exports to 2 million mt, while soybean exports are down 8% to 2.2 million mt.
